A 4-juan classical Chinese siege-defence manual by Chén Guī, based on his successful defence of Déān during the Jīngkāng / Jiànyán SòngJīn wars. The work is one of the principal Sòng-period military-technical treatises. Composition: bracketed by Chén’s mature military career, with the work probably composed in the 1130s during his Déān tenure. The frontmatter brackets to ca. 1130–1141.
Abstract
The Shǒu chéng lù is the principal Sòng-period siege-defence treatise. The work is heavily cited in modern military-historical scholarship on SòngJīn warfare.
