A ten-juan early-Yōngzhèng commentary on the Shānghán lùn by the Sūzhōu / Chángshú-region physician 姚球 Yáo Qiú, completed 1727. The work — sometimes attributed in late-Qīng prints to “Wúmén” 吳門 (Sūzhōu) anonymous authors — presents the Shānghán materials with running annotation drawing on the Chángshā fùgǔ (ancient-text-restoration) line, supplemented with Yáo’s own clinical adjustments.
Abstract
The catalog meta provides no author; modern textual scholarship (Mǎ Jìxīng 1991) attributes the work to Yáo Qiú 姚球 on the basis of the preface in late-Qīng witnesses. Yáo is a minor early-Qīng physician known almost exclusively through this single work; his exact lifedates are not preserved. The composition date 1727 is given by the preface (Yōngzhèng 5). The work circulated in modest editions through the late Qīng and is preserved in the 漢學文典 corpus as a representative second-tier Qīng Shānghán commentary.
