About the work
A four-juan continuation of the Shàng lùn piān (KR3ef026), extending 喻昌 Yú Chāng’s reconstruction-commentary to the Shānghán-ancillary clinical problems not covered in the principal Shàng lùn piān: wēnyì 溫疫 (warm epidemic), fēngyì 風疫 (wind epidemic), yùn qì 運氣 (climatic-influence) considerations, and post-Shānghán convalescence problems. The work is structurally a sequel rather than a separate independent commentary.
Abstract
The work was composed in the years following 1648 and refined through Yú’s last years before his death in 1664. It is best read together with the Shàng lùn piān as a unified commentarial program. In some Qīng prints the two are bound together as a single twelve-juan set; in others they circulate separately, as here.
