About the work
A single-juǎn casebook of the early-twentieth-century Xīnān 新安 school physician Wáng Zhòngqí — one of the most influential Shànghǎi practitioners of the 1920s–1930s. The 漢學文典 source preserves the case-records without preface, the patient-name and address given in canonical Shànghǎi street form (汪，唐家弄; 王，十六浦; etc.) — confirming the Shànghǎi setting.

Abstract
Wáng Zhòngqí 王仲奇 (1881–1945), míng Jīnjié 金杰, of Shèxiàn 歙縣 (the Huīzhōu / Xīnān homeland in southern Ānhuī), descended from a long-established Xīnān 新安 medical lineage. He moved his practice to Shànghǎi in the early Republican period and built a major clinical reputation in the foreign-concession period, alongside 丁甘仁 Dīng Gānrén, 陳蓮舫 Chén Liánfǎng, 費繩甫 Fèi Shéngfǔ, and Cáo Yǐngfǔ 曹穎甫.
The casebook represents Wáng’s mature clinical signature: Yè-school light-and-pacifying prescribing infused with the Xīnān school’s characteristic attention to gānyīn / shènyīn (liver-yin / kidney-yin) deficiency. The opening cases address throat-pain with xuányōng descent (懸壅下垂) and liver-gall-bladder qì-transversal-blockage of stomach-descent, treated with light hǎigéfěn / chuānbèimǔ / qīngdài / shíhú combinations and xuánfùhuā / dàizhěshí / fǎbànxià for the gānwèi axis. This is a textbook Xīnān-meets-Yè-school clinical compendium.
The composition window 1900–1945 reflects Wáng’s mature clinical decades through to his death. The cases were collected by his disciples; first major Republican printing in the early 1930s, later widely reproduced in twentieth-century Chinese-medical compilations.
