Abstract
Dated to the Táng by Schipper (Schipper & Verellen, Taoist Canon 2: 680, DZ 443). The text opens with a list of taboo-names of various Shàngqīng deities (Liù jiǎ jūn 六甲君, Nányuè jūn 南嶽君, Běihuáng shū jūn 北黃書君, Tàijí jūn 太極君, Wànfú jūn 萬福君, Chìjiè jūn 赤界君, Qīngtóng jūn 青童君, Zhēndǒu jūn 真斗君, Dàdù jūn 大度君, etc.), followed by an excerpt from a Zǐfèng lù 紫鳳籙. Both the title of the book and the Zǐfèng lù citation indicate a relationship to the Shàngqīng tradition — especially to DZ 1372 Shàngqīng gāoshàng yùchén fēngtái qǔsù shàngjīng and to the Zǐfèng chìshū 紫鳳赤書, mentioned in the Jiǔzhēn míngkē (DZ 1314 Dòngzhēn tàishàng sùlíng dòngyuán dàyǒu miàojīng 51b, 52a) and cited in DZ 412 Shàngqīng pèi fúwén qīngquàn jué 2a (KR5b0096) and Yúnjí qīqiān 7.7a, 9.11b. Sòng catalogues list a Dòngzhēn lóngjīng jiǔwén zǐfèng chìshū in one juàn (VDL 122).
In the present text, however, the Zǐfèng lù is said to have been transmitted along with the Bāwēi cèwén 八威策文 — a text originally associated with the Língbǎo tradition (cf. DZ 352 Tàishàng dòngxuán língbǎo chìshū yùjué miàojīng 1.24b–26a = KR5b0036). The next section (4a–6b) is reported as deriving from chapter 75 of the Jīnguāng míng jīng of the Sānhuáng tiānwén dàzì 三皇天文大字. The closing account rehearses the regulations for the transmission of the book.
The text is characteristic of Táng Shàngqīng scholastic onomastic-compendium production — a blending of registers from the three Sāndòng traditions into an integrated esoteric-name inventory.
