Jīnlù jiětán yí 金籙解壇儀
Altar-Dismissal Liturgy of the Golden-Register Fast
About the work
The ninth of the Dù Guāngtíng Jīnlù 金籙 cycle (KR5b0167–KR5b0181); the jiětán yí 解壇儀 (“altar-dismissal liturgy”) closes the multi-day Jīnlù rite by formally dissolving the ritual demarcation of the altar space. The text is transmitted in a single fascicle (三儀同卷軆五, Tǐ 5) together with KR5b0176 shèjiào yí and KR5b0177 fàngshēng yí — the offering, the release-of-life, and the altar-dismissal — which together close the rite.
Abstract
Schipper & Verellen (Taoist Canon 2: 996, entry by John Lagerwey). The jiětán sequence: xièzhēn 謝真 (thanks to the descended deities); formal sòngshèng 送聖 dismissal; dispersal of the altar implements; lifting of the jiéjiè spatial boundary; and the bǔ 卜 divination to verify the rite’s success. The procedure was already articulated in the Six Dynasties Lingbao zhāi tradition but receives its standard articulation here in the Dù Guāngtíng synthesis.
