Yùlù dàzhāi dìèrrì wǎncháo yí 玉籙大齋第二日晚朝儀
Evening-Audience Liturgy of the Second Day of the Great Jade-Register Fast
About the work
Sixth of the eight-part Yùlù dàzhāi programme (DZ 505 a–h). The evening audience of day 2 stands at the structural pivot of the three-day fast — the close of the central day, after which the rite turns toward the concluding jìyōu salvation phase.
Abstract
The evening rite closes the day with the final ninth huí of the central scripture-recitation cycle, plus a transitional huíxiàng anticipating the next day’s jìyōu pànhú salvation rite (KR5b0209). The text retains the standard wǎncháo dedications to the yīnfǔ deities and the gūyōu of the jiǔyōu. Following the dedication, the rite includes the special evening xiètiāndì 謝天地 (thanksgiving to Heaven and Earth) which seals the salvific huí of the day. The structural symmetry of the Yùlù programme — three days × three audiences × three incense-pinches — makes this fascicle the deepest interior point of the rite, the one furthest from both the opening sùqǐ and the closing yángōng 言功.
