Sūtra of the Mad Dog by 支謙 (Zhī Qiān, 譯)
About the work
A single-fascicle short pìyù / avadāna taking the simile of the mad dog (猘狗) — symbolising the kleśa-driven mind — as its central image, set as a Buddha-discourse at the Veṇuvana in Rājagṛha on the uposatha day of the fifteenth-of-the-month. Translated by 支謙 Zhī Qiān in the Wú. Signature: 「吳月支國居士支謙譯」.

Abstract
T214 falls within Zhī Qiān’s Wú-period activity (222–253). The Indic source is unidentified; the zhìgǒu (“mad dog”) simile is a relatively rare pìyù-image, possibly drawing on a Sarvāstivādin or Mahāsāṃghika Vinaya-narrative source.
