About the work
A short single-fascicle Buddhist parable on a dàyú (“great fish”) — drawn from an Indic Suttanta-class source — translated by 竺曇無蘭 Zhú Tánwúlán (= *Dharmaraksa, distinct from the Western-Jìn 竺法護 竺法護). Signature: 「東晉天竺三藏竺曇無蘭譯」.

Abstract
T216 belongs to Zhú Tánwúlán’s documented Eastern-Jìn translation period at Jiànkāng (c. 381–395). The Indic source corresponds to a Saṃyutta-āgama-class short discourse with a fish-related parable; the precise suttanta-correspondence cannot be confidently identified in the Pāli or Sanskrit recensions.
