Sūtra of Parables by 義淨 (Yìjìng, 譯)
About the work
A short single-fascicle pìyù sūtra translated by 義淨 Yìjìng in the Tang. Signature: 「大唐三藏法師義淨譯」. The opening sets a Jetavana frame in Yìjìng’s idiosyncratic Sanskritising orthography (室羅伐城逝多 = Śrāvastī Jetavana).

Abstract
T217 falls within Yìjìng’s documented post-695 translation programme at Cháng’ān and Luòyáng (700–713). The Indic source corresponds to a Mūlasarvāstivādin Vinaya-narrative avadāna compatible with Yìjìng’s principal Indic-source orientation.
