A two-fascicle Northern-Sòng Chinese translation of a Pāla-period Indic prajñāpāramitā commentary in nine gāthās, with verse-by-verse exegesis. Translated by Fǎhù 法護 / Dharmapāla in the Northern-Sòng Yìjīngyuàn. Signature: 「勝德赤衣菩薩造／西天譯經三藏朝散大夫試鴻臚卿傳梵大師賜紫沙門臣法護等奉詔譯」. The opening verse: 「般若波羅蜜多智…」 (“the prajñāpāramitā-knowledge…”).

Abstract
T1516 represents the late-medieval Pāla-period Prajñāpāramitā commentarial tradition in Chinese — a tradition oriented toward the Buddha-mātṛ (Buddha-Mother) personification of the Prajñāpāramitā and toward verse-summary commentary on the doctrine. The translation can be dated to Fǎhù’s documented Northern-Sòng activity (1004–1058 CE).
