Sìjiào yí bèishì 四教儀備釋
Comprehensive Interpretation of the Four-Doctrines Manual by 元粹 (Yuáncuì / Gǔyún Yuáncuì, 述)
About the work
A two-juan (上 / 下) Yuán-period commentary by Gǔyún Yuáncuì 古雲元粹 of Tiáoxī (Húzhōu) on Dìguān’s Tiāntái sìjiào yí (KR6d0168, T1931). Body attribution: Tiáoxī shāmén Yuáncuì shù 苕谿沙門 元粹 述. The composition is bracketed within Yuáncuì’s productive period c. 1214–1290 (extending the bracket beyond his documented productive years to allow for late activity).
Abstract
Yuáncuì’s Bèishì belongs to the substantial SòngYuán commentarial tradition on Dìguān’s Sìjiào yí. As a dharma-disciple of 北峰宗印 Běifēng Zōngyìn (1148–1213), Yuáncuì represents the late-Sòng / early-Yuán Tiāntái scholastic tradition’s continued engagement with the Tiāntái doctrinal-classification framework.
