Huáyán jīng jīn shī zǐ zhāng zhù 華嚴經金師子章註
Annotated Treatise on the Golden Lion of the Huáyán Scripture by 法藏 (Fǎzàng, 撰) and 承遷 (Chéngqiān, 註)
About the work
This 1-fascicle text is the parallel Sòng-period annotation of 法藏 Fǎzàng’s Jīn shī zǐ zhāng 金師子章, by the Northern-Sòng monk 承遷 Chéngqiān. Distinct from 淨源 Jìngyuán’s [[KR6e0097|Yún jiān lèi jiě]] (T1880), this is an alternative Sòng commentarial tradition on the same parent text — providing a different doctrinal-philological reading of Fǎzàng’s classic illustrative text.

Abstract
The bracket adopted here (1050 – 1100) reflects the Northern-Sòng period of Chéngqiān’s mature activity. The fact that two distinct Sòng-period annotations of the Jīn shī zǐ zhāng (T1880 by Jìngyuán and T1881 by Chéngqiān) survive — and were transmitted in parallel — attests the central importance of Fǎzàng’s brief work in the Sòng Huáyán-school curriculum. The two annotations together provide a comparative basis for studying Sòng-period Huáyán doctrinal scholarship.
The Taishō text (T1881) is established on the standard apparatus.

Other points of interest
- The parallel Sòng commentary tradition on the Jīn shī zǐ zhāng — Jìngyuán (T1880) and Chéngqiān (T1881) — is one of the more interesting cases of doubled Sòng commentarial activity on a single Tang Buddhist work, attesting the work’s continued centrality in monastic teaching nearly four centuries after its original composition.
