Treatise on the Ten Clarifications: Resolving Delusion, Manifesting Wisdom, Perfecting Compassion by 李通玄 (Lǐ Tōngxuán, 撰)
About the work
This 1-fascicle treatise by 李通玄 Lǐ Tōngxuán (645–740) is a compact philosophical treatise on the bodhisattva path organised around 10 míng 明 (“clarifications”). The threefold soteriological structure — jiě mí 解迷 (resolving delusion), xiǎn zhì 顯智 (manifesting wisdom), chéng bēi 成悲 (perfecting compassion) — is the conceptual frame within which the 10 clarifications operate, providing a triadic mapping of the bodhisattva’s progressive realisation.

Abstract
The work is conventionally datable to 李通玄 Lǐ Tōngxuán’s mature period at Mt. Tàiháng 太行山, c. 720 – 740 CE. The bracket adopted here reflects this window. As with all of Lǐ zhǎngzhě’s works, the doctrinal substance is distinctive — combining standard Mahāyāna-Buddhist soteriology with the Yìjīng-numerological-cosmological interests characteristic of his approach to the Avataṃsaka. The work supplements his major commentary [[KR6e0022|Xīn huáyán jīng lùn]] (T1739) by providing a focused thematic treatment of the jiě mí xiǎn zhì chéng bēi progression.
The Taishō text (T1888) is established on the Korean Tripiṭaka Koreana and Gōng 宮 (Palace) witnesses.

Other points of interest
- The triadic structure (resolving delusion → manifesting wisdom → perfecting compassion) is a characteristically Tang Mahāyāna-Buddhist statement of the bodhisattva path’s threefold soteriology, here cast in a numerologically-elaborated 10-clarification format.
