Ritual for Inviting the Buddhas of the Nine Assemblies in the Ocean-Seal Bodhi-Maṇḍa of the Huáyán Scripture [anonymous]
About the work
This 1-fascicle anonymous text is a Buddhist ritual manual (yí 儀) for monastic huáyán services centred on the cosmological structure of the [[KR6e0010|Avataṃsaka]]‘s seven-place / nine-assembly teaching framework. The ritual invites the cosmic Vairocana Buddha and the bodhisattvas of the nine assemblies into the bodhi-maṇḍa (道場) for devotional offering and contemplative practice. The hǎi yìn “ocean-seal” reference is to the [[KR6e0113|hǎi yìn sānmèi doctrine]].

Abstract
The work is anonymous and undated; conventional scholarship places it broadly in the Tang-Sòng period of Chinese Buddhist liturgical literature. The bracket adopted here (800 – 1280) reflects this maximum window. The work is preserved in the Manji Xù zàng jīng (X1469) collection in the Huáyán liturgical-ritual section.
