About the work
This 1-fascicle text attributed to 安世高 Ān Shìgāo treats the Mahāyāna doctrine of the bǎo jī sānmèi (Ratna-kūṭa-samādhi) and the fǎ shēn (dharmakāya). Modern scholarship (Nattier 2008) is somewhat sceptical of the traditional ascription to Ān Shìgāo, given the Mahāyāna character of the text, but the attribution is preserved by the canonical tradition.

The traditional attribution to 安世高 Ān Shìgāo would place the translation in the late-Hàn period (148 – 170 CE).
