About the work
This 1-fascicle text by 玄奘 Xuánzàng is the second Chinese version of the Smaller Sukhāvatīvyūhasūtra, parallel to Kumārajīva’s T0366. Xuánzàng’s translation, while more philologically faithful to the Sanskrit, never displaced Kumārajīva’s older, stylistically more polished version in liturgical practice.
