About the work
The Jí jiě in 71 fascicles is the great Liáng-period compiled commentary on Dà bān niè pán jīng 大般涅槃經 (KR6g0001), drawing together the work of multiple earlier Niè-pán-school authorities into a single comprehensive commentary. The 71-fascicle scope makes it one of the largest single commentaries in pre-Táng Chinese Buddhism.
Abstract
The bracket adopted here (488–509) reflects Bǎoliàng’s mature Liáng-period activity. The work is preserved in the standard apparatus including the yuán 原, jiǎ 甲, and Shèng 聖 witnesses.
