About the work
The Fóshuō Jùlì zhǎngzhě suǒwèn dàchéng jīng (T543) is a three-fascicle Mahāyāna sūtra translated by the Sòng monk Zhìjíxiáng 智吉祥 (智吉祥) and his team at the Sòng Yìjīng yuàn. The protagonist Jùlì 巨力 (“Great-Strength”; Sanskrit Mahābala) is the elder-interlocutor.

Abstract
This text belongs to the second-generation Sòng translation team, which was active after the deaths of Tiānxīzāi/Fǎxián (d. 1000) and Shīhù (d. 1017). Zhìjíxiáng worked at the Yìjīng yuàn in the Tiānxǐ 天禧 to Qìngyìu 慶曆 eras (1017–1054 CE).
