About the work
The Fóshuō guāngmíng tóngzǐ yīnyuán jīng (T549) is a four-fascicle Sòng sūtra translated by Shīhù 施護 (施護). The protagonist Guāngmíng tóngzǐ 光明童子 (“Boy Light-Brilliance”) is the central figure of an avadāna tracing his karmic causes leading to encounter with the Buddha.

Abstract
A four-fascicle Mahāyāna avadāna on the child-bodhisattva Prabhākumāra. Translation dated to Shīhù’s productive period (989–1017 CE).
