Abstract
A short avadāna in which a woman who has suffered loss (yùgū 遇辜, “encountered misfortune”) receives Buddhist instruction and is converted. Datable to Shèngjiān’s translation activity in 388–409 CE. The text is recorded under his name in the Lìdài sānbǎo jì and Kāiyuán shìjiào lù; the catalog reading 乞伏秦 directly identifies the Qǐfú regime.
