Liánhuábù xīn niànsòng yíguǐ 蓮華部心念誦儀軌

Lotus-Family Heart-Recitation Ritual Manual (anonymous)

About the work

A one-fascicle anonymous Lotus-family Esoteric ritual manual, paralleling the better-known Amoghavajra version (KR6j0039, T18n0873). The Taishō header notes the cross-references “[cf. Nos. 873, 874]” — confirming this as a parallel recension within the Vajradhātu corpus.

Prefaces

The text opens directly with the ritual instructions, giving the sequence: 淨地 (purifying the site), 淨身 (purifying the body), and so on. No translator-attribution colophon survives.

Abstract

The Liánhuábù xīn niànsòng yíguǐ (T875) is the anonymous parallel to Amoghavajra’s Jīngāngdǐng liánhuábù xīn niànsòng yíguǐ (T873, KR6j0039). The two texts share the same ritual function — the Lotus-family xīn niànsòng (heart-recitation) practice for the iṣṭa-devatā of the Lotus-family (Amitāyus / Avalokiteśvara) — but the two recensions differ in the specific ritual prescriptions.

The text’s anonymous transmission and short length suggest a working ritual handbook rather than a translated scripture; conventionally placed in the late Tang period (8th–9th c.).
