A short single-fascicle (1卷) sectional-outline (kēwén 科文) accompanying 圅昰’s Lèngyánjīng zhízhǐ 楞嚴經直指 (KR6j0699, X14 no. 291). The catalog meta records no author for this entry; however, the work is the structural-outline companion to KR6j0699 and is conventionally attributed to Tiānrán Hánshì 天然圅昰 圅昰 (1608 – 1685), the late-Míng / early-Qīng Cáodòng-school master of the Lǐngnán region. Preserved as X14 no. 290 in the Xùzàngjīng.
Abstract
The work opens with the standard kēwén layout: “Wholesūtra major outline (in three): / Initial: preface section (in two) / Initial: the various sūtras’ general examples (in two) / Initial: speaking time-and-place …” (○全經大科(三)：初序分(二)：初諸經通例(二)：初說時處 …). The structure is the topical key to the parent Zhízhǐ commentary, providing the hierarchical sectional analysis necessary to follow Hánshì’s distinctive CáodòngChán reading of the Lèngyánsūtra.
The dating bracket is set to 1640 – 1685, the productive Cáodòng-school career of Hánshì from his establishment as abbot at the Léifēngsì 雷峰寺 / Hǎiyúnsì 海雲寺 / Lúshān Guīzōngsì 廬山歸宗寺 through to his death.
