Abstract
The Shísòng jiémó bǐqiū yàoyòng is the only Sarvāstivāda karmavācanā compendium in the Chinese canon (parallel to the Dharmaguptaka jiémó compilations of Kāng Sēngkǎi KR6k0013 and Tán Dì KR6k0014). Together with the parent Shísòng lǜ, it constituted the practical-procedural base of the Shísòng Vinaya school in southern China during the 5th–7th centuries. The text condenses the long karmavācanā sections of the parent Vinaya into a portable handbook for daily use, with the standard uposatha, pravāraṇā, robe-distribution, and upasaṃpadā formulae.
