Abstract
The Zīxíng chāo is one of the most extensive Japanese-Buddhist scholastic compendia on the Tang-Sòng Sìfēn lǜ tradition. As a Japanese work, it is preserved in the Japanese Daizōkyō supplement rather than the standard Chinese canon. Its 28 fascicles provide encyclopedic treatment of the Dàoxuān–Yuánzhào framework adapted to medieval Japanese Risshū-Vinaya scholastic interests.
