Abstract

The text is a substantial cross-Vinaya practical reference, drawing on all four canonical Chinese Vinayas plus the vinaya-vibhāṣā commentary tradition. The two fascicles testify to the depth of Vinaya scholarship at Dunhuang and provide important evidence for the active comparative-Vinaya tradition in northwestern Tang Buddhist communities.
