About the work
A four-fascicle composite work combining Dàoxuān’s parent commentary on the Hánzhù jièběn (KR6k0131) with Yuánzhào’s 元照 (元照) sub-commentary. The Japanese monk Sokujō 即靜 added analytical divisions (分會 fēnhuì) for instructional use.

Abstract
The composite Tang-Sòng-Japanese transmission of this text reflects the international scope of late-medieval East Asian Vinaya scholarship: the Tang commentary tradition (Dàoxuān) was extended in the Sòng (Yuánzhào) and further refined for Japanese instructional use. The text became a standard Japanese Risshū reference.
