About the work
A single-fascicle anonymous annotated text of KR6n0016 Chéng wéishí lùn — i.e. an interlinear commentary giving short glosses on the master text rather than a freestanding commentary. Abstract
The text is one of several anonymous Cí’ēn-tradition annotations on T1585 preserved in the Xuzangjing; on internal grounds it is generally placed in the Tang period, possibly in the late-Tang. The dating bracket adopted (700–900) reflects the absence of internal dating evidence. The work’s principal interest is as evidence of the practical reading-tradition — the kind of marginal annotation a student would have used at the lecture-bench — that surrounded the formal Cí’ēn commentaries.
