About the work
The three-juan table of contents (mùlù 目錄) to the 30-juan Jiànzhōng jìngguó xùdēng lù 建中靖國續燈錄 (KR6q0007), the third of the Sòng Chán lamp records. Separately transmitted — and separately catalogued in the Xuzangjing (X78 n. 1555, distinct from n. 1556 which is the main text) — the mùlù is essentially a finding-aid for the 1,712 figures enumerated in the parent work.
Abstract
Presented together with the main work to Sòng 徽宗 Huīzōng in the first year of the Jiànzhōng jìngguó 建中靖國 reign period (1101). The existence of a separately-transmitted mùlù is not unique to this lamp record (cf. the juan-level tables of contents at the head of most Chán lamp records), but the 建中靖國 mùlù was transmitted as an independent three-juan text through the Japanese monastic editions that became the basis of the Xuzangjing, and is therefore catalogued separately in modern Chinese Buddhist bibliographies.

Other points of interest
The separate transmission of this mùlù — and of comparable mùlù for other Sòng lamp records — is a minor but useful witness to Japanese editorial practice in shaping the Xuzangjing’s treatment of Sòng Chán materials.
