Pǔjué Zōnggǎo chánshī yǔlù 普覺宗杲禪師語錄

Sayings-Record of Chán Master Pǔjué Zōnggǎo — a two-juan Southern-Sòng yǔlù of Dàhuì Zōnggǎo 大慧宗杲 (1089–1163), the dominant Southern-Sòng Chán master and originator of kàn huà chán 看話禪 method. Pǔjué 普覺 is Zōnggǎo’s posthumous title. Compiled by his dharma-heirs Fǎhóng 法宏 and Dàoqiān 道謙.

Two-juan Southern-Sòng Chán yǔlù, X69 n1362. Non-commentary; commentedTextid omitted.

This is a compact recension of Zōnggǎo’s teachings, companion to the much larger Dàhuì Pǔjué chánshī yǔlù (T47 n1998A, 30 juan) — the principal canonical yǔlù of Zōnggǎo.

Dating: notBefore c. 1130; notAfter 1190 (Jìngshān Zǔqìng’s 1190 preface to the Pǔjué Zōnggǎo chánshī yǔlù provides a useful chronological anchor).
