About the work
Single-juan regional selection yǔlù of Juélàng Dàoshèng 道盛 覺浪道盛 (1593-01-18 – 1659-10-22), the principal MíngQīng transitional Cáodòng chánshī and Míng-loyalist literary-religious figure. Recorded by fǎsì Dàshū 大樞 + Dàyīng 大英. Front-preface by Tán Zhēnmò 譚貞默 of Jiāxīng. Printed as Jiāxīng Canon J34 B312. The title-form Jiāhé 嘉禾 (= Jiāxīng) marks the volume as a regional Jiā-xīng-area selection from Dàoshèng’s broader yǔlù corpus (the comprehensive 33-juan quánlù preserved at KR6q0221).
Abstract
Authorship. Per the 道盛 note: thirty-third-generation Cáodòng patriarch (Dòngshàng zhèngzōng), heir of 元鏡 Huìtái Yuánjìng (1577–1630). Native of Pǔchéng 浦城 (Fújiàn). Approximately fifty abbacies in his career, centered on Tiānjièsì 天界寺 in Nánjīng (whence the title-form 天界覺浪盛).
Dating. notBefore = c. 1635 (post-transmission preaching, after Yuánjìng’s 1630 death). notAfter = 1659 (Dàoshèng’s death). The single-juan Jiāhé selection covers the master’s preaching during the Jiā-xīng-area abbacies of his career.
Relation to KR6q0221 and KR6q0458. This regional Jiāhé selection is complementary to KR6q0221 《天界覺浪盛禪師全錄》 33-juan quánlù. Dàoshèng was also the dharma-teacher of Fāngróng Rúxǐ 如璽 (cf. KR6q0458), confirming the Tiān-jiè-line’s continuation through both monastic and Jiā-xīng-area lay-patronage networks.
