Abstract
Recension II differs from Recension I primarily in the assignment of buddha-names to the ten zhāi-rì: Recension II gives a more complete list of Mahāyāna buddhas (including Bhaiṣajyaguru 藥師 and Amitābha 阿彌陀) where Recension I uses more generic appellations. Zhāng Zǒng treats Recension II as a slightly later refinement that integrates more fully with the Pure Land and Bhaiṣajyaguru devotional cults of the later 8th–9th c.
