Yú Mǐnzhōng 于敏中 (1714–1779), Shūzǐ 叔子 / Zhòngtáng 重棠, posthumous title Wénxiāng 文襄, of Jīntán 金壇 in southern Jiāngsū. Zhuàngyuán 狀元 (first-place jìnshì) of Qiánlóng 2 (1737), aged 24. The most influential Hàn official of the high-Qiánlóng era: his career ran in unbroken ascent through the Hànlín Academy, the Council of State, and the Wényuān gé Grand Secretariat (Wényuāngé dàxuéshì 文淵閣大學士), with successive responsibility for the Sìkù quánshū 四庫全書 project (1773–), the Píngdìng zhǔn’gā’ěr fānglüè (KR2c0012), the Qīndìng jiǎopǔ Línqīng nìfěi jìlüè (KR2c0014, on the Wáng Lún revolt — co-compiled with Shū Hèdé), and the Rìxià jiùwén kǎo 日下舊聞考 of 1774.
