Rèn Shìlín 任士林 (1253–1309), zì Shūshí 叔實, hào Sōngxiāng 松鄉 (“Pine-Village”), native of Fènghuà 奉化 (Míngzhōu / Níngbō region, Zhèjiāng). Inducted by Hǎo Tiāntǐng 郝天挺 (the foundational Mongol-court Confucian advisor) as foundational shānzhǎng (Master / Headmaster) of the Āndìng shūyuàn 安定書院 at Húzhōu — one of the most important post-conquest Yuán academies and a principal site of Confucian transmission from the late-Sòng to high-Yuán Jīnhuá / Wúzhōu schools. Friend and contemporary of Dài Biǎoyuán 戴表元. His prose was the early Yuán’s most concentrated attempt at deliberate Hán Yù gǔwén recovery. Zhào Mèngfǔ 趙孟頫 composed his epitaph after his death (preserved in Zhào’s Sōngxuězhāi wénjí KR4d0445 juàn 8). His collected works survive as the Sōngxiāng jí KR4d0444 in 10 juàn. CBDB person 27941.
