Yú Yín 余寅 (1519–1595; CBDB id 128361), zì Sēnggǎo 僧杲, native of Yín 鄞 in Níngbō 寧波 (Zhèjiāng). Mid-Míng gǔxué (ancient-learning) Confucian and scholar-official, Wànlì gēngchén (1580) jìnshì. He served at the Hànlín yuàn and rose to Tàicháng sì qīng. His scholarship was in the gǔwén (ancient-prose) tradition associated with Wáng Shìzhēn 王世貞 and Lǐ Pānlóng 李攀龍, who together are sometimes named the two leading mid-Míng gǔxué polymaths. His chief surviving work is the Tóngxìngmíng lù 同姓名錄 (KR3k0047), the most comprehensive late-Míng compendium of historical homonyms — a successor to Liáng Yuándì’s foundational Gǔjīn tóngxìngmíng lù. The 12-juan form was completed shortly before his death; his fellow-townsman Zhōu Yīngbīn 周應賓 added a supplementary juan.
