Míngxiáng 冥詳 (fl. mid- to late seventh century) was a Táng-period Buddhist monk associated with the Dà Cí’ēnsì 大慈恩寺 translation establishment in Cháng’ān. He composed the earliest extant biographical document on 玄奘 (Xuánzàng, 602–664), the Dà Táng gù sānzàng Xuánzàng fǎshī xíngzhuàng (KR6r0042), shortly after Xuánzàng’s death in 664. Beyond this single short xíngzhuàng, no other works or biographical data survive under his name. He was apparently a disciple or younger associate of Xuánzàng who composed the formal funerary record as a basis for subsequent biographers.
