Liú Xiàochuò 劉孝綽 (481–539 CE; original name Rǎn 冉) was a Liáng 梁 court poet from Pénchéng 彭城 and the eldest of a large clan of literary siblings. He held a precocious poetic reputation that his erratic official career undermined. His verse belongs to the Palace Style (gōngtǐ 宮體) tradition. Ranked upper grade in Zhōng Róng’s 鍾嶸 Shīpǐn.
