Founding-Míng zhífāng lángzhōng and poet, native of Tàihé 泰和 (Jíān 吉安, Jiāngxī). Zì Zǐgāo 子高; originally named Chǔ 楚; hào Cháwēng 槎翁 (“Old Man of the Raft”). Jǔrén in the late Yuán xiāngshì. In Hóngwǔ 3 (1370) recommended on grounds of talent and appointed Zhífāng lángzhōng 職方郎中 (Director of the Operations Bureau); transferred to Běipíng Ànchá sī fùshǐ; demoted to forced labour at the capital for an offence; recalled in Hóngwǔ 13 (1380) as Lǐbù shìláng and acting shàngshū; retired immediately; recalled once more in 1381 as Guózǐ sīyè but died within ten days. Identified by the Sìkù tíyào of his collected verse KR4e0016 as the founding voice of the Jiāngyòu 江右 (Jiāngxī) poetic school of the early Míng, contemporary and analogue of the four other founding regional schools (Wú under 高啟, Yuè under 劉基, Mǐn under 林鴻, Lǐngnán under 孫蕡).
