Liú Wéntài 劉文泰, fl. 1480–1510, Míng imperial physician under Chénghuà 成化 and Hóngzhì 弘治 emperors. He rose to the post of Yuànshǐ 院使 (Director) of the Imperial Medical Academy (Tàiyīyuàn 太醫院). His principal contribution was as 總裁 (chief editor) of the imperially commissioned Běncǎo pǐnhuì jīngyào 本草品彙精要 (KR3ec021) of 1503–1505 — the lavish 42-juan, 12-colour-illustrated Hóngzhì court pharmacopoeia.

His career ended in scandal: after the death of Míng Xiàozōng in 1505, censors charged that the imperial prescription team under Liú had administered an improper medication, and Liú was impeached, demoted, and imprisoned. The associated political reaction caused the Pǐnhuì jīngyào to be withdrawn from circulation. No CBDB record. Biography in 《明史》 j.299 (方技).
