Liú Fǎng 劉昉 (zì Fāngmíng 方明, c. 1100–1150), Southern-Sòng jìnshì and official, native of Jiēyáng 揭陽 (Guǎngdōng). Jìnshì of the Xuānhé 6 (1124) cohort. Served in several civil-military posts before being appointed Tánzhōu shuài 潭州帥 (military commissioner of Tánzhōu, modern Chángshā 長沙) in the Shàoxīng era. While in office he commissioned and personally directed the compilation of Yòuyòu xīnshū 幼幼新書 (KR3ej010), an encyclopaedic forty-juǎn digest of all paediatric materials in the Chinese medical canon up to his time. He died at Tánzhōu in the autumn of gēngwǔ 庚午 = 1150, with thirty-eight of the forty juǎn completed; the work was completed by his successor Lóu Shú 樓璹 in the eleventh month of the same year.
