Late-Southern-Táng / early-Sòng scholar-official and compiler, Zhèngyí 正儀, of Rùnzhōu Dānyáng 潤州丹陽. Son-in-law of Xú Xuàn 徐鉉 (he married Xú’s daughter and was groomed in his house). Served the Southern Táng as Nèishǐ shěrén; after the Sòng conquest passed the jìnshì examination (979) and entered the Tàizǐ zhōngyǔn and Diànzhōng chéng posts. Worked alongside his father-in-law on Sòng Tàizōng’s three great encyclopedic projects (Tàipíng yùlǎn, Tàipíng guǎngjì, Wényuàn yīnghuá) and edited Xú Xuàn’s posthumous Qíshěng jí KR4d0001 in 30 juǎn. Author of the Shìlèi fù 事類賦 ( on Categories of Things, with self-commentary, 30 juǎn) — an unusual lèishū in form, transmitted in WYG and a long-running scholarly favorite. CBDB 12238, lifedates 947–1002 in agreement with Sòngshǐ j. 441 (附傳).
