Late-Míng / early-Qīng eunuch and editor; surnamed 呂, zì Chìyǐn 赤隱; the Lúchéng in the Sìkù-bestowed inscription identifies a place-name (Lúchéng 蘆城) attached to him. Active in the late-Míng inner palace; survived the dynastic transition. The Sìkù editors record only that “Bì’s biography is unknown” and that he was “a late-Míng eunuch.” His principal extant work is the Míng gōng shǐ 明宮史 (KR2m0032), a late-Míng inner-palace memoir thought by some to be a redaction of Liú Ruòyú’s much larger Zhuō zhōng zhì. CBDB confirms 1611–1664.
