Lǚ Zǔjiǎn 呂祖儉 (d. 1198), zì Zǐyuē 子約, hào Dàyúsǒu 大愚叟, was the younger brother of Lǚ Zǔqiān 呂祖謙 and a major figure of the Wùzhōu Lìzé Shūyuàn 麗澤書院 lineage. Jìnshì; rose to Tàicháng bóshì 太常博士. In Qìngyuán 1 (1195), at the start of the Qìngyuán dǎngjìn 慶元黨禁 (the proscription of the Dàoxué faction), he memorialised in defence of Zhū Xī and was banished to Sháozhōu 韶州 (Guǎngdōng), where he died. He is the editor of the materials that became the Lìzé lùn shuō jí lù 麗澤論說集錄 (KR3a0052), gathered after his elder brother’s death (1181) and intended for publication. CBDB id 3655, death year 1198.
