Late-Yuán Jiāngxī literatus and recluse-poet of Ānchéng 安成 (Lúlíng region, modern Jí’ān, Jiāngxī). Style-name Hēngyuǎn 亨遠; self-styled Shítián zǐ 石田子 (“Stone-Field Master”) from the family residence at Shíméntiánxī 石門田西, abbreviated to Shíchū 石初 (“Stone-Beginning”). He was born in QiánZhìyuán èrshíjiǔ rénchén (1292) and died in the Hóngwǔ era at 88 sui (the tíyào gives “Hóngwǔ èrshí nián jǐwèi” = Hóngwǔ 20, but the cyclical year jǐwèi is Hóngwǔ 12 = 1379, which matches the 88-year lifespan; the printed Hóngwǔ èrshí is a tíyào typographical slip — preserved as in the source). In youth he sought out the Sòng yílǎo still living in the Lúlíng area and absorbed their xùlùn (post-Sòng critical traditions). In the Yányòu era he sat the new Yuán kējǔ twice and failed; thereafter he shut his gate and devoted himself to poetry and old-style prose. His Shíchū jí 石初集 (KR4d0562) is the surviving collection.
