天親

Vasubandhu (Tiānqīn; also 世親 Shìqīn in later translations), c. 4th–5th century CE.

The younger half-brother of Asaṅga 無著 and one of the two founding figures of Indian Yogācāra scholasticism. Author of the Abhidharmakośa (in his pre-Mahāyāna phase) and, after his Yogācāra conversion under Asaṅga, of the Triṃśikāvijñaptimātratāsiddhi (Sānshí sòng 三十頌), the Viṃśatikā, the Mahāyānasaṃgraha-bhāṣya, and the prose Vajracchedikā vyākhyā translated into Chinese by Bodhiruci as T1511 (the principal Indian commentary on the Diamond Sūtra used by Chinese Yogācāra exegetes).
