Yáo Shùnmù 姚舜牧
Zì Yúzuǒ 虞佐, hào Chéng’ān 承庵. Native of Wūchéng 烏程 (modern Húzhōu 湖州, Zhèjiāng). 1543–1627. Late-Míng jǔrén-rank scholar known for systematic yíwèn (questioning) commentaries on multiple canons:

- Shūjīng yíwèn 書經疑問
- Chóngdìng Shī jīng yíwèn 重訂詩經疑問 in 12 juǎn (KR1c0040), original preface dated Wànlì xīnhài (1611) — the revised version is later
- Lǐjì yíwèn 禮記疑問
- Chūnqiū yíwèn 春秋疑問
- Sì shū yíwèn 四書疑問
His self-preface to the Chóngdìng Shī jīng yíwèn records that he had been working on his Shī-canon doubts “for several decades” before producing the revised version, willing to override the zhìyì (examination-format) reading wherever his philological investigation pointed. The Sìkù editors regard the Shī-volume as his best work among the yíwèn series.
