Sūn Guāngxiàn 孫光憲 (d. 968), zì Mèngwén 孟文, self-styled Bǎoguāng zǐ 葆光子. Native of Shǔ (born “between Mín and É” 岷峨, per his own preface to KR3l0023 Běimèng suǒyán); the surname’s jùnwàng (clan native place) Fùchūn 富春 explains the conflicting self-identifications in the bibliographic record. Career: under the late Táng Língzhōu pànguān (Língzhōu judicial inspector); from c. 925 onward attached to Gāo Jìxìng 高季興 at Jīngnán (Nánpíng) as cóngshì (administrative aide); served through three Gāo rulers (Jìxìng, Bǎoróng, Bǎoxù); on the eve of the Sòng conquest he persuaded Gāo Jìchōng 高繼沖 to submit (963), bringing the three districts of Jīngnán under Sòng rule peacefully; Sòng Tàizǔ rewarded him with the post of Governor of Huángzhōu 黃州, where he died c. 968. His biography is in Wǔdài shǐ Jīngnán shìjiā and Sòng shǐ 483. CBDB id 45144 records c_fl_earliest_year 907, c_fl_latest_year 968, c_death_year 965. Birthdate not securely transmitted but inferable as c. late 890s.
He was the most prolific literatus of the Jīngnán court. Surviving from his catalogued works: KR3l0023 Běimèng suǒyán 北夢瑣言 (20 juàn, the principal extant text) and six cí in the Huājiān jí 花間集. Lost: the Xù tōnglì 續通歷 (continuation of Mǎ Zǒng’s Tōnglì), Jīngtái jí 荊臺集, Júzhāi jí 橘齋集, Wánbǐ yōng jí 玩筆傭集, Gǒnghú biān 鞏湖編, Wáncán shū 玩蠶書. The earlier judgement that he was a Five-Dynasties figure is amended by the Sìkù compilers to “Sòng” since his governorship of Huángzhōu was substantively a Sòng appointment.
