Sūn Shēng 孫升 (1038–1099), Jūnfú 君孚. Native of Gāoyóu 高郵 (Yángzhōu, modern Jiāngsū). Under RénzōngYīngzōng he passed jìnshì and entered office; under Zhézōng’s Yuányòu era he held Zhōngshū shèrén 中書舍人 (Drafter in the Secretariat) — a senior post involving the drafting of imperial commands. With the Shàoshèng reversal and the Yuányòu faction’s defeat in 1094, he was demoted to Tīngzhōu 汀州 (modern Fújiàn). He entered the formal Yuányòu dǎngjí (faction-blacklist) compiled by Cài Jīng. Died in Yuánfú 2 (1099). CBDB id 1542 records the name without firm lifedates; the standard reference works give 1038–1099. His memorials are partly preserved in Sòng huìyào jígǎo.

His table-talk during the Tīngzhōu exile was recorded by Liú Yánshì 劉延世, son of the local Chángtīng magistrate, as the KR3l0039 Sūngōng tánpǔ 孫公談圃 (3 juàn). Sūn’s distinctive Yuányòu-internal positions — opposition to Wáng Ānshí, but also to the Sū Shì faction within the Yuányòu coalition — make him an important witness to the multi-vocal character of the conservative party.
