Yǔwén Màozhāo 宇文懋昭, fl. 1234. Compiler of the DàJīn guózhì 大金國志 (KR2d0010) — a 40-juǎn private Sòng history of the Jurchen Jīn 金 dynasty (1115–1234). His self-preserved jìnshū biǎo 進書表 in the work, dated 15th day of 1st month of Duānpíng 端平 1 (15 February 1234), describes him as a “Huáixī guīzhèng rén” 淮西歸正人 (a Huáixī defector returning to Sòng allegiance) who was on that occasion granted the office of Chéngshìláng 承事郎 and Gōngbù jiàgé 工部架閣. The text gives no further biographical particulars (his place of birth, his father’s identity, and his own subsequent career are all unrecorded). The Sìkù tíyào observes that the date of the biǎo — only five days after the actual destruction of the Jīn at Càizhōu (10 February 1234) — makes it doubtful that the work could have been composed and presented so promptly, and concludes that the text in its received form has been substantially supplemented by later (probably Yuán-period) hands. CBDB does not record him with confident dates. The catalog meta marks him “fl. 1234.” Note: the Sìkù version of the work is the imperially-revised Qīndìng chóngdìng DàJīn guózhì 欽定重訂大金國志, parallel to the Qīndìng chóngdìng Qìdān guózhì and modified on the same Qiánlóng-era zhèngtǒng grounds.
