Early-Míng (Yǒng-lè-era) literatus of Yúyáo 餘姚 (Zhèjiāng). Born Sòng Xù 宋緒; the catalog meta and SKQS Sìbù refer to him by his zì Gōngchuán 公傳, by which he was commonly known. Under the Yǒnglè emperor (Chéngzǔ), he was one of five Yúyáo men summoned for the compilation of the Yǒnglè dàdiǎn 永樂大典 (1403–1408). On the encyclopaedia’s completion, the other four (Sòng Mèngyuè 宋孟嶽, Zhào Fūdí 趙膚迪, Zhū Démào 朱徳茂, Zhāng Tíng 張廷) were given posts; Sòng Xù alone declined office and returned home. His sole transmitted work is the KR4h0100 Yuán shī tǐyào 元詩體要 (14 juǎn), the early-Míng form-organised anthology of Yuán poetry — probably assembled during or shortly after his Yǒnglè dàdiǎn labour, drawing on the materials he had then encountered.
